Secretary 

Time commitment 4-6 hours per week, including online meetings.  


We wish to recruit a volunteer with strong organisational skills and attention to detail to be our charity Secretary. 


The Secretary at Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees (SWR) plays a crucial role in supporting the Trustees and ensuring compliance with legal and governance requirements. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records, facilitating

effective communication, and supporting overall organisational efficiency.

Recruitment Lead

Time commitment 4-6 hours per week, including online meetings.  


As Recruitment Lead, you will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to support the recruitment efforts for our organisation. You will help develop and implement a recruitment strategy and plan to fill priority volunteer requirements, ensuring that we have the right people in place to support our initiatives.

Communications Volunteers

Time commitment 2-4 hours per week, including online meetings.  


The communications team at Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees (SWR) consists of approximately 10 dedicated volunteers involved in various communication activities, including website management, Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp (emails), press/PR, graphic design, writing, video production, Google Workspace system (Gmail and document storage), and technical support.

Fundraising Lead 

Time commitment 4-8 hours per week, including online meetings.  


We wish to recruit a volunteer with experience in fundraising to be our fundraising lead. 

The Fundraising Lead will develop and execute strategies to generate income from diversified streams, ensuring long-term, sustainable growth. The role involves building partnerships, fostering supporter relationships, and enhancing understanding of the impact of donations on SWR's mission.

The Trustees, Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees 

Operational Communications Lead 

Time commitment 4-8 hours per week, including online meetings.  


We wish to recruit a volunteer with experience in communications to be our operational communications lead. 


Our main communication channels are quarterly meetings for all volunteers, supporters & refugees; newsletters/updates (via Mailchimp and Facebook); and our website – 2,600 views in last 90 days. Our Facebook group (private) has 774 members; and the Facebook page (public) has 802 followers. We have 774 subscribers on Mailchimp, 46 followers on Instagram [new build], and 55 followers on LinkedIn. We also do occasional events e.g. Sevenoaks Summer Fair on The Vine.
