ARTIST PROFILES

Mohamad Karkoura: I was an art teacher in my country, Syria, and it was there that I gained experience in drawing. I love to draw nature and everything that pulsates with love. When I moved to Eynsford, I was impressed by its peaceful green nature and the flow of water, and from there I had the idea of drawing the best of Eynsford’s landmarks. I have always loved walking over it. The summer days began to calm down and I began to watch the ducks floating on the water. So my painting aims to reflect the charm of nature in the summer days of Eynsford. The name of the painting is ‘Ford’ and the location is the ford at Eynsford.

Svetlana Zanko: I am a Ukrainian artist currently based in Kyiv. Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine I have tried to turn my art to capture the enduring beauty of spring in my city - Kyiv. I use vibrant colours and paint famous landmarks to show the beauty of Kyiv. These paintings capture Kyiv in springtime, a season of hope, peace and renewal. While the city faces immense challenges, its spirit and rich history live on. These five pieces showcase some of Kyiv's most famous landmarks.

You can see the 6 paintings on the carousel immediately below, and larger images further down the page.
